Taking Responsibility For Ones Actions: A No Brainer!

Ever since the State of Florida won a settlement against tobacco companies and the infamous Mcdonald’s hot coffee lawsuit in the 90’s our country has been inundated with a bad case of ITS NOT MY FAULT SYNDROME. This serious disease affects people from Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Politicians in and out of Washington, and celebrities down to Nasa Astronauts, School Principles and teachers, to the average everyday Joe.

Everyone is a victim, and there are 5 lawyers for each one ready, waiting, and willing to sue someone to get a pay day. Don’t get me wrong I want people who are responsible to be held accountable, but many times the person actually responsible is the person suing.

The two lawsuits I began with are two prime examples of this type of blame shifting. Smoking is a voluntary action. No one puts a gun to your head and says smoke these cigarettes. No one puts a gun to your head and forces you to go down to the market and buy a carton. So if you get sick from smoking whose fault is it?

When you get a cup of coffee COMMON SENSE would tell you that it is HOT. So who’s fault is it that YOU spilled the hot coffee all over yourself? You had control of the coffee; It was in your hands. Was there someone else holding it for you??

By logical conclusion we can now deduce the following should take place in the near future:

Even though a PERSON, not the company, has to load it and pull the tripper Gun manufactures’ and dealers’ should be sued for all the gun related deaths, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy and consume soda and snack, food manufactures’ and distributors’ should be sued for all the obese related deaths, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy and drive automobiles, car manufactures’ and car dealers’ should be sued for all the Automobile related deaths, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy and eat peanut bars, candy manufactures’ and distributors’ should be sued for all the peanut related deaths, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy and cook their own food, manufactures’ and distributors’ should be sued for choking on food related deaths, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy and eat fast food, Restaurants and distributors’ should be sued for deaths due to eating a taco while driving, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy soft drinks and drink them, manufactures’ and distributors’ should be sued for Diabetes deaths, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy and eat dairy products, manufactures’ and distributors’ should be sued for sickness due to lactose intolerance, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy and read a book, publishers’ should be sued for vision medical bills due to print being way too small in the books they print, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy their own furniture and walk around their OWN house, manufactures’ and stores should be sued for pain & suffering when you stub your toe on the coffee table, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Even though a PERSON has to buy & listen to their own MP3 player or Ipod, manufactures’ and retail stores should be sued when you go deaf from having the volume way to high, much like the Florida Tobacco Settlement.

Where does it end? Let me state again. If someone has a valid case and is attempting to hold accountable a person or company I am all for it. However, if they are just trying to shift blame from themselves then just take responsibility for it and GET OVER IT!!!
